Vanilla Pear and Vodka Cocktail Recipe

Vanilla Pear Cocktail

This is a delightful beverage that one can enjoy during a warm summer day. It’s also the perfect cocktail for group occasions, whether that’s for a backyard party or for a more formal evening event. Preparation time should take about 10 minutes and cooking time should take about 15 minutes.

Cocktail Ingredients

350 ml of pear nectar, 170 ml of your favorite vodka, 8 tablespoons of spiced vanilla pear syrup, and ice.

Spiced Vanilla Pear Syrup Ingredients

2 sweet pears, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 5 slices of ginger, 3 cloves, orange peels, and one star anise seed.

Cocktail Recipe Instructions

1. To make the syrup, you will first dice the pears into small cubes then put it in a small saucepan over medium heat with the remaining syrup ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil then let it simmer for about 15 minutes. This should ideally be done the night before the cocktail is made in order to give the syrup sufficient time to cool.

2. To make the actual cocktail, you will place a few large cubes into the lowball glasses then start pouring the pear nectar and vodka mixture into each glass. Next, add in the desired amount of pear syrup you made the night before and give it a good whirl.

3. For garnishing, we suggest adding a star anise seed or a slice of pear.

When preparing the pear and vodka cocktail, there is always a risk of introducing pests like gnats into the kitchen. Once you finish making the cocktail, it’s important to safely dispose the ingredient used. Leftover pear and granulated sugar are prime candidates for attracting flies so proper cleaning is the best way to get rid of gnats in the kitchen.
